Show HN: Readingclub.ai – Enable Creative Writing at Any Literacy Level Today's the official launch of readingclub.ai During the pandemic, my co-founder Alexis Diamond sought ways to engage his then 7-year-old son, a reluctant reader, in co-reading activities. This led to the development of a highly interactive and personalizable mobile app, laying the groundwork for what would eventually become readingclub.ai. Today, readingclub.ai not only allows for creation and sharing of stories, but will soon enable users to sell their illustrated children's books, opening up new avenues for aspiring authors and illustrators of all ages, languages, and capabilities. Why readingclub.ai? Because we think this is going to help people and be very successful. Since January 1st, I've been all-in on readingclub.ai – our launch today is the result of 2+ months of solid work every single day. In the end, however, the market is ruthless. The market doesn't care how hard you work. It cares about what you build. If you build something nobody wants, too bad. But make something people want, and you'll kill it. Therefore, please help us make a product you'll love. You're our user. Are you a parent and would you like to be able to write + illustrate children's stories with your children in 10 minutes? Are you an educator and would you like your students to read (and write) more often, and have fun with literacy, and measure and rate their progress? Are you an adult who’s always wished to write illustrated storybooks and share them with an audience, and even sell them? Are you a person who sees readingclub.ai as an opportunity to practice not only your English, but other 50+ languages such as Spanish through reading and writing stories? Did you try the product, what is your feedback? How can readingclub.ai be an ideal product for you, for your family, for fun, for an extra revenue channel, for your education, or even your work? If you are excited about our vision, please support us by upvoting us and commenting on our post on Product Hunt (today) to give us global visibility. https://ift.tt/gswWnQe Acknowledgments I want to give credit to Steven Tey who developed the open-source library Novel. We extensively leveraged parts of the Novel codebase, particularly in our app's editor. Steven's work sped us up 100x. As we continue to incorporate features inspired by Novel, I want to appreciate the work Steven's done in the open-source community. Credit also to Sachin Kamath↗ and Diana Zdybel from AI-Lemon Academy who facilitate the excellent "AI Bootcamp - Supercharge Creative Process" course on Maven (formerly "Creative X AI Bootcamp"). Sachin is the creator of the viral Consistent Character GPT. What we learned from Sachin enabled us to engineer prompts for consistent characters. Their course goes way beyond that, and I recommend it to anyone doing creative / marketing work. https://ift.tt/Ur1IFAD March 4, 2024 at 09:10PM
